Programming language is required to develop an application. Programmers can develop applications using programming languages.

Crome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.

There are four types of applications used as software. Applications are used in four categories in four categories. So let us differentiate them four by separating them in detail.
1. Desktop Applications :
Desktop applications are applications that can only be run on the same computer system at a time. These applications that are installed in the computer system can be run only in that computer system. We can not run Desktop applications from one computer to another. Desktop applications can only be created using Core Java.
There is no need for any type of server, network or internet to run the desktop application. Desktop Applications can be downloaded easily from the Internet by downloading it in the system.
Examples: Ms Office, Offline Game, etc.
2. Web Applications :
Web Applications are the applications that require servers and internet to run. These applications are run by Web Browser with the help of internet. Web applications can be accessed from anywhere through Web Browser.
There are two processes in the Web application: one client side and the other server side means a request and the second response. In Web Application, the request is sent by the client from the Web Browser and the server is given a Response for that request and the client is given it. To create Web Applications, we need Java, Servlet, jsp, htlm, and css. Web Applications are Handled on the Browser by Server.
Examples: Facebook, Google, WhatsApp etc.
3. Interprise Applications :
Enterprise applications are accessed in a Particular area. This application is created only for a Particular area. This application can not be used by every human being. Only those Tasks can be performed for Interprise Applications which are made for Particular Tasks.
Enterprise application has its own specific area, it can be used in the same specific area. Only those who are offered Interprise Applications can use this application. Enterprise applications are more secure, it can not be used by common man.
Examples: Bank Applications, Railwire Applications.
4. Mobile Applications :
Everyone will know the Mobile Application. These applications are only used in Mobile. In order to use Mobile Application, we can easily download applications from Play Store and install it in our Mobile Device.
Mobile Applications are run in both "Online" and "Offline". Some mobile applications are found in free and we have to pay people for some mobile applications. Mobile Applications Desktop Applications can also be used by the Programmer to make "Mobile Applications" using "Android Studio".
Examples: WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, Shareit etc.
